Whether this is your first or 21st year at Wildacres, we’re excited to welcome you to our writing community. Please read the following instructions and notes before applying.

Application Instructions
First-time applicants: Submit a one-page writing sample along with your Workshop application and deposit.
All applicants: Complete the application form in its entirety and we’ll be in touch to confirm availability/acceptance and to provide payment options. As of June 1, your balance is due on acceptance to secure your spot.
Important Notes
A FEW SPOTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE: As of June 1, we have just a few openings, so you can still apply for the Workshop. Complete the application form and we’ll be in touch to confirm availability/acceptance and to provide payment options. Please send any questions during this time to Director Amy Willoughby-Burle at amywilloughbyburle@gmail.com.
Balance:
The full balance for the Workshop (and Retreat, if you’re attending both)
is due on acceptance.
Refunds:
- $100 cancellation fee after June 1.
- No refunds after June 15 unless we can refill your spot.
- If you are not accepted, we will refund your entire deposit minus any online-payment service fees.
- No refunds for any reason once the retreat and workshop weeks are underway.
Acceptance Letter: Your acceptance letter will provide information about your class, the facility and schedule, payment, and other details to help you prepare for the Workshop.
Once you have been accepted, paid your deposit, and your class roster is complete, your instructor will contact you with manuscript page limits, submission timelines, and file-sharing guidelines, as well as any other class information and/or pre-work instructions you’ll need prior to arrival.
We fill up early! The Workshop can sleep 90 attendees, plus faculty and our Workshop staff, while the Retreat spots for our writers are capped at 40 attendees. We always have a waiting list for both, so don’t wait to apply.
Please note that single rooms are not available at the Workshop this year.
