The Wildacres Experience FICTION Scholarship

Offered by an alum, this scholarship is an opportunity for a fiction writer, either novel or short fiction, to attend Wildacres Writers Workshop for the first time. The scholarship covers the cost of attending the workshop week. The Wildacres Experience is like no other. Find your voice, your people, your inspiration!
Application Requirements and Instructions
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be a FIRST TIME attendee
- Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2026
- Submit 6-10 pages of double-spaced fiction, with your name and contact information (address, phone, and email address) on all pages.
- Your fiction submission must be formatted in one of these standard file types: pdf, doc, docx, txt, rtf.
- Attach your submission file and email it to us at wildacreswriters@gmail.com with the subject line “Wildacres Experience Fiction Scholarship.” In the body of the email include a paragraph or two about why you are a good candidate for this award.
The Janice Fuller Memorial Scholarship in Poetry

In memory of a beloved Wildacres Writers Workshop instructor and dear friend, we are pleased to offer the Janice Fuller Memorial Scholarship to a first-time attendee poet. It was Janice’s passion and life’s work to teach, write, and inspire. She did all three with beauty and eloquence. It is our honor to share this opportunity with you.
This scholarship covers the cost of the writing workshop week.

Nancy Dew Taylor Memorial Poetry Scholarship

We are pleased to offer the Nancy Dew Taylor Memorial Poetry Scholarship to two poets who are dedicated to their craft. Nancy Dew Taylor was a mainstay for two decades at the Wildacres Writers Workshop, where she generously helped and supported other poets and where she formed many lasting friendships.
She was much loved and highly respected as a poet, professor, community leader, and mentor to artists.
A scholarship of $2000 will be awarded to both a current student and to a poet 65 years or older. Each scholarship will cover the cost of a two-week stay at Wildacres Writers Workshop ($1515) allowing the winner to attend both the retreat and the workshop weeks and will also include a $485 allotment for travel and expenses to be reimbursed upon attendance.

- Must be 18 or older and a current full-time student or a poet 65 years old or older.
- Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2026
- Submit 5 poems, with your name and contact information (address, phone, and email address) and category of scholarship (student or 65 and up) on all pages.
- Include a brief bio note (50 words or less)
- Your poetry submission must be formatted in one of these standard file types: pdf, doc, docx, txt, rtf.
- Attach your submission file and email it to us at wildacreswriters@gmail.com with the subject line “Nancy Dew Taylor Memorial Poetry Scholarship.” In the body of the email include a paragraph or two about why you are a good candidate for this award.
